Monisha

Monisha now lives in our Champion Home in Salem, Tamil Nadu, South India. Behind her gentle smile is a story of hardship that no child should have to endure.

Her father was falsely accused and is now in prison, leaving the family in deep distress. Her mother, a differently-abled woman, struggles every day just to survive. With limited opportunities, she takes up whatever small work she can find, earning very little. There have been many days when even providing food for her children felt like an impossible task.

Yet, in the midst of her struggles, she did not want her children to suffer under the weight of poverty and hopelessness. So, she approached us, seeking help for a better future for her daughters.

Seeing their situation, we welcomed Monisha and her sister Durga into our Champion Home.

Monisha is a cheerful young girl who finds great joy in simple moments, especially playing on the swings and the merry-go-round.

Though she is average in her studies, she is determined and puts in sincere effort to learn well. she carries a beautiful dream in her heart—to become a teacher when she grows up.
